Sandalwood is a class of woods from trees in the genus Santalum. The woods are heavy, yellow, and fine-grained, and, unlike many other aromatic woods, they retain their fragrance for decades. The scent is believed to be one of the most pleasing to the gods.
Sandalwood is impervious to attack by termites, and folklore has thus attributed the qualities of sandalwood to protection and security. Sandalwood is also though to dissolve negativity.
