The Blue Moon Zaphir chime melody is reminiscent of twinkling silence, corresponding to the natural frequency of Winter.
Zaphir chimes, (the original Shanti wind chime), have rich harmonies of sound and colour which correspond with the natural frequencies of the seasons, elements, or chakras. Because of their synchronizing and relaxing effect, these chimes are popular in Feng Shui, relaxation, sound therapy, meditation, yoga, health clinics, spas, salons, stress therapy, as well as educational work with both adults and children.
The crystalline tones of the chimes have a wonderful calming effect on children, however they are not a toy and it is recommended that they not be left in the hands of young children.
The enchanting Zaphir Wind Chimes are hand crafted by dedicated craftsmen in the heart of the French Pyrenees, from mostly natural materials (in the original design that was created for the Shanti Chime). The resonance tube is made of recycled and biodegradable materials. It is treated with a finishing layer of Ecolabel varnish to protect it from the weather.
Eight chords of different lengths are welded with silver into a metal plate at the base of a resonance tube. Precise tuning creates a play of clear tones that is rich in overtones. The overtones of the shorter chords gradually dominate and become fundamentals, thus forming a circular tone range.
Through tight, spiral winding of thin layers of long fiber celluloid, a very strong, thin and flexible resonance tube is created with the right acoustic qualities for a warm timbre of the crystal clear sound of the Zaphir Chime. After assembly, the chime is tuned again by hand.

The decorative patterned marble finish of each chime is a unique process developed by the Zaphir team using a technique they call 'oil-paint on water'. With this distinctive process they have created a range of colour finishes.
