Used for tapping or striking your bowl, the felt allows you to strike the bowl solidly bringing out the bowls rich tones, without risk of damaging the bowl.
Sticks made from softwood are lighter coloured than the darker hardwood, and they tend to "break-in" easier.
Hardwood sticks are a little heavier, and have a more solid 'feel' when playing your bowl.
A wood/leather stick offers two different ways to sound your bowl.
Tapping or playing the bowl with the leather part of the stick brings out more of the lower frequencies, particularly in the old "master" bowls. The large stick, because of it's large diameter of leather, is used primarily with the leather end on larger bowls
Tapping or playing your bowl with the wooden part of the stick brings out the higher frequencies.
This set consists of the musical note C tuned to 256 Hz, and the musical note G tuned to 384 Hz creating the interval of a perfect fifth.
More forks on the way!
The 32 Hz fork vibrates so low that it sounds more like a buzz than a note. It is recommended for use in stimulating the lymph system by moving it close to the skin.
The 64Hz fork is longer than the 128 Hz fork, and sounds an octave lower.
The 64 Hz fork is best used for being placed on the sacrum in the lower spine to balance the autonomic nervous system.
